THANK YOU
IMO Update to Members
Following Public Sector Wide Work Stoppages 14th October
THANK YOU
Thanks to all the IMO members who participated in the IMO Work Stoppage today. It was undoubtedly a challenging day for our health services and while no doctor wants to take this kind of action it was necessary.
- Thanks to all our members – NCHDs, Consultants, Public and Community Health Doctors - who supported this action.
- Thanks to our IMO NCHD Leads who successfully ran 31 picket lines across all Model 4, Model 3 and some Model 2 sites which were very well attended by our members. Their work in organising and coordinating pickets was vital to the day.
- Thanks to our members who were working onsite today – our NCHDs on Work Stoppage Rotas and our Consultants who were onsite throughout the dispute. When making the decision to take part in this action IMO Council ensured patient safety was a priority and our members ensured this was maintained.

NEXT STEPS
- The IMO, and all other healthcare unions, have served WORK STOPPAGE NOTICES for 21st October and we will keep you informed of developments on this. We hope that the action today across the public sector will bring Government to a position where they will meaningfully engage on pay as a priority.
- The IMO WORK TO RULE INSTRUCTIONS should be followed from start of shift on 15th October until further notice – they can be viewed here.
- IMO will engage directly with HSE and individual sites where issues arose in respect of hospital management planning for the work stoppage and we are very appreciative of all the members who made contact to alert us to problems.
