IMO Update on Talks on Public Sector Pay to commence Monday, 19th October

 

Following engagement by the Independent Group appointed by Government with Public Sector Trade Unions and Government it has been agreed that:

 

• Discussions will commence at the WRC on Monday 19^th October
• The discussions should commence with pay related matters, including trade union claims on cost of living effects between 2021 and 2025, this year and for the duration of any agreement
• There is a need to rebuild trust and confidence in industrial relations in the public sector by addressing commitments made in the context of previous agreements
• In the event of an impasse being reached in respect of any matter during the negotiations at the WRC, we will remain available to consider any such issue at the request of the WRC and to put forward a means of resolution which should be accepted by the parties. In the meantime, negotiations on other matters will continue at the WRC.  

We will keep members informed of developments in this regard.

While the Work Stoppage planned for 21^st October is suspended the IMO Work To Rule continues.
