As you will be aware the new illness benefit certification arrangements commence from this Friday 1^st March.

The Department are issuing new forms with a counterfoil for reconciliation, but these will be distributed in the next 2 weeks. Under this new system you are entitled to be paid for all forms issued, and you should keep a record of any assessment completed for reconciliation purposes.

 

We do appreciate that there will be an increased level of workload with the introduction of the new system, but would expect that as the closed certification process settles in this will reduced the workload on GPs.
