Irish Medical Organisation

NCHD’s views vital in shaping our health service

15.09.2011

The Irish Medical Organisation is conducting a detailed benchmark survey of NCHDs as part of the IMO NCHD Strategy and Engage for Change campaign.

IMO Assistant Director of Industrial Relations, Shirley Coulter said; “Through the Engage for Change campaign and the benchmark survey our aim is to foster a culture of positive engagement among NCHDs working in Ireland with a view to ensuring that the Irish Health Service can attract the best doctors, provide excellent training, defined career paths and the highest standard of patient care and safety.”

She added “It is important that the IMO Strategy for the future of NCHDs and the IMO’s dealings with the HSE represents the views and needs of our members. To this end it is vital that all NCHDs complete the survey in order that the results are an accurate reflection of the opinion of the absolute majority of NCHDs.”

Ms. Coulter said; “The survey takes approximately 20 minutes to complete and is being undertaken by independent company Behaviour and Attitudes on behalf of the IMO. All responses will be treated in the strictest of confidence.”

NCHDs who complete the survey by the end of September will be entered into a draw to win an Apple iPad. This draw will take place during the launch of the results at a National NCHD event in Dublin on Saturday 22nd October 2011.
