Further to our email of 25th March (see below), I would like to advise that the IMO will be holding three National Consultant Meetings to discuss the Consultant CME and Rest Day Entitlements proposals next week. These meetings will be open to both IMO members and non members. Closing date for voting on the ballot is Monday 14th April @ 12.00 noon.

• Tuesday 8th April - Galway - Connacht Hotel, Dublin Rd, Galway City, Co. Galway at 7.00pm
• Wedensday 9th April - Cork - Hayfield Manor, Perrott Avenue, College Road, Cork City at 7.00pm
• Thursday 10th April - Radisson Hotel, Dublin Airport, Dublin at 7.00pm

Consultant CME and Rest Day Entitlements

Arising from the 2012 Labour Court decisions and Labour Relations Commission proposals, the IMO and the HSE entered into a detailed and protracted process of negotiations aimed at devising agreed policies on Consultant Continuing Medical Education and Rest Day entitlements.

Those negotiations have now reached a conclusion, and the IMO is organising a ballot of each Consultant members on the proposed changes.

Members will be asked separately to accept or reject the proposals, which can be viewed below
