Important Information on Limited Contract Adjustments
We wanted to take this opportunity to update you on some minor changes in contractual terms that have been agreed to by the HSE.
- Historic Rest Days
For those Consultants who have established an entitlement to Historic Rest Days, the period by which that entitlement must be availed of has been extended to 31st December 2025. We have been advised that further such extensions will not be allowed.
- CME/ Study Leave
It has been agreed that a carry over of CME funding and Study Leave untaken in 2023 may be carried into 2024. This provision applies to all Consultants, regardless of the contract that Consultant holds.
- Annual Leave
In recognition of service pressures throughout the year, in “circumstances where a Consultant may not be able to avail of their full leave for genuine service related reasons”, that untaken leave, above the statutory minimum (20 days) may be carried into the next leave year, whether that commences on 1st January 2024, or 1st April 2024.
