As you are aware the IMO Ballot in respect of public service pay talks has now closed and we have received an overwhelming mandate of 93.8% in favour of industrial action, up to and including strike action.

Next Steps

• National Specialty Committees for NCHDs, Consultants, Public and Community Health will meet today to determine the nature of the industrial action.
• IMO will serve notice of industrial action on the HSE and all voluntary hospitals on Wednesday 23rd September, 3 weeks’ notice is required so any action will commence on 14th October. Members will be aware the INMO, Forsa and SIPTU have served notice for Work to Rule from Sept 30th and indicated intention to strike on 14th and 21st October.
• Members will be advised as to the nature of industrial action following the meetings of national committees and council.
• IMO will enter discussions with HSE and voluntary hospitals in relation to contingency arrangements.
• IMO will host member webinar(s) to advise members of any industrial action arrangements in advance of 14th October.

We ask that you engage with colleagues to ensure they are trade union members so they can participate in industrial action and be protected as IMO members.
