Meet the speakers
Derek Bell has a wealth of experience at senior management level in multinational, indigenous and not-for-profit organisations. He has also operated his own business for over 17 years, training, coaching and mentoring individuals in career and business matters.
Derek will present on how retirement can affect your personal identity and sense of self. He will also be touching on the social welfare system, state pension provision, benefits and entitlements.
Fran McGrath, Sales & Business Development Manager with IMO Financial Services is a Qualified Financial and Retirement Planning Adviser. He has over 15 years’ experience in the financial services sector. He has been advising GPs in the area of financial planning for pensions, retirement, investment opportunities and protection.
In his presentation, Fran will be touching on how to prepare GPs for retirement from a financial aspect and the various retirement options available to them.
Liam Kenny is an Associate of Chartered Institute of Management Accounts (CIMA) and the Irish Taxation Institute (ITI). Liam joined Grant Thornton in 2005 having worked across areas of accounting tax and financial planning. Liam has responsibility for managing the delivery of tax advisory and compliance services to privately owned businesses, including family owned businesses.
Liam’s presentation will be a brief overview of the succession options available to GPs and the tax implications to be considered in pursuing these options.
Matt Leahy is a broker consultant with Mercer. He has been with Mercer for eight years and recently joined the new intermediary distribution business to selected broker firms. Previously, he worked on various defined benefit and contribution pension schemes across the country.
Matt’s presentation will be a look through Mercer’s Aspire portfolio range and recent performance. He will also touch on the GMS superannuation scheme administered by Mercer.
