13th February 2013. The Irish Medical Organisation (IMO) has accused the Minister for Health and the HSE of wanting to look over the shoulder of every GP in the country and second-guess their confidential advice to patients.
Statement from IMO on Consultant pay
Tuesday 11th February 2014. While the IMO welcomes confirmation from the Department of Health that existing consultants moving from one post to another within the health service will not be subject to the 30% pay cut we have serious concerns at the length of time it has taken for the Minister to realise the error of his decision in September 2012 to announce a unilateral pay cut of 30% for new entrant consultants.

Saturday 1st February 2014. Following a preliminary review of the Draft Contract proposed by Government in relation to the extension of Doctor Only Visit Cards to Under 6s the IMO has serious concerns on a number of fronts.

Dr. Ray Walley, Chairman of the GP Committee of the IMO has called on the Government to immediately commence real and meaningful negotiations with the IMO on its plans to introduce Doctor Only Visit Cards for all children under the age of 6 this year.

IMO GPs meet with Fine Gael Health Committee to discuss crisis in GP services
