Background
The IMO Research and Policy Unit has produced a first draft of a position paper on Mental Health Services in Ireland, which explores the economic rationale for investing in mental health services as well as the lack of progress implementing the national mental health strategy A Vision for Change. The strategy look at the treatment of mental health problems at GP level and what support is needed in primary care.

A questionnaire was issued to GPs and Psychiatrists to gain their input and this forms part of the position paper.
