8. This meeting welcomes the recommendations of the MacCraith Report that a Working Group be established by the Department of Health, the HSE and the Faculty of Public Health Medicine to examine specific aspects of training, roles and areas of expertise in Public Health Medicine, aiming to secure the viability and further development of the specialty. Lack of progress in implementation is disappointing.
