Irish Medical Organisation

The LRC Agreement provides that each breach of EWTD should be reported on the enclosed form. It is essential that each breach is reported so the hospital and the IMO are aware of each breach of the agreement. While this has no consequence for an individual doctor who will be paid for all hours worked
it is important to the hospital and to the IMO for the overall achievement of EWTD. It is crucial that hospital management and the clinical director are aware of these lapses. Please ensure that each incident of working in excess of 24 hours is reported.

Any sanction that applies for breach of the agreement will be based on what is recorded on the forms.
Please complete this on line, or print off and send it to your Medical Manpower Manager and a copy to nchdissues@imo.ie

If you have any query on this form please contact your local IMO representative of contact the IMO.

Section 10 Health and Safety of the LRC Agreement says;

“From 1st December 2013 NCHDs who work a shift in excess of 24 hours will be required to complete a form (see Appendix A). This will apply to every specialty and sub-specialty area / service in each hospital. The form is to be submitted to the Hospital CEO / General Manager and will be reviewed by the hospital EWTD Implementation Group on a monthly basis.”
