Meet the Speakers
Fran McGrath, Sales & Business Development Manager with IMO Financial Services is a Qualified Financial and Retirement Planning Adviser. He has over 15 years’ experience in the financial services sector. He has been advising GPs in the area of financial planning for pensions, retirement, investment opportunities and protection.
In his presentation, Fran will be touching on how to prepare GPs for retirement from a financial aspect and the various retirement options available to them.
Derek Bell has a wealth of experience at senior management level in multinational, indigenous and not-for-profit organisations. He has also operated his own business for over 17 years, training, coaching and mentoring individuals in career and business matters.
Derek will present on how retirement can affect your personal identity and sense of self. He will also be touching on the social welfare system, state pension provision, benefits and entitlements.
Val Moran is a University College Cork graduate where he gained a BSc. in Finance. He subsequently qualified as a solicitor and worked in private practice in Cork. Val has been a member of the IMO Industrial Relations Unit since 2010 and is currently Director of Industrial Relations for GP and Public & Community Health.
Val’s presentation will deal with planning for retirement from the GMS, rules governing GMS list succession, redundancy issues and different models of succession.
Richard Power is Director of Stockbroking at Cantor Fitzgerald Ireland and has 18 years investment management experience. Richard began his career with Dolmen Stockbrokers in 1999, managing equity and bond portfolios for institutions. In 2008 Richard was appointed Director of Stockbroking. Richard graduated from University of Limerick in 1997 with a Bachelor of Business Studies and French and is a Qualified Financial Advisor.
Richard will touch on the current market outlook and how to manage volatility within a portfolio before and after retirement.
