Salary Increases Sanctioned for Doctors
Official sanction has been given for payment of a salary increase of 2.5% with effect from March 1st 2008 to all salaried doctors as provided for under the Towards 2016 agreement.
The revised salary scales and allowances for Consultants, Non-Consultant Hospital Doctors and Public Health Doctors are attached.
The increase will also be applied to fees and allowances payable to doctors participating in the GMS and other publicly funded schemes including the mother and child care scheme and the primary childhood immunisation scheme. A separate circular sanctioning such an increase is still awaited from the HSE Primary Care Reimbursement Service.
Confirmation of approval of the increases for salaried doctors followed participation by the IMO in a series of meetings as part of the Performance Verification process contained within the Towards 2016 national agreement.
We expect it may take some weeks for the vast majority of doctors to see these increases passed on to them. Nonetheless, members who experience undue delay or difficulties in receiving these increases are asked to contact IMO House for assistance.
