As advised previously by the IMO, as provided for in the IMO/HSE High Court Settlement Agreement a Labour Court Hearing was held on Wednesday 10^th June 2009. The recommendation of the Court is due to be issued on Thursday 18^th June 2009, the contents of which will be put to a ballot of IMO NCHD members. The outcome of the Labour Court and consequent ballot will have serious implications for NCHDs with regard to changed work practices and as such it is essential that NCHDs are fully informed prior to voting in the ballot. As such a series of information meetings to brief NCHDs on the Labour Court Recommendation will be held next week as below:

As the ballot must be returned by Thursday 25^th June 2009 it will be possible for NCHDs to cast their vote anonymously at these meetings. The IMO strongly encourages all NCHDs to please attend one of these meetings to ensure that the ballot result reflects the wishes of an informed NCHD body.
